Idaho State Regulations
n Idaho, all employers with one or more employees are required to carry workers’ compensation insurance, which can be obtained through a private insurer or by becoming self-insured if they meet the necessary criteria. Sole proprietors and partners are exempt but have the option to opt-in for coverage. Corporate officers and LLC members with a substantial ownership interest are also excluded unless they elect to be covered. Idaho’s system focuses on providing medical benefits, wage replacement, and rehabilitation services to injured workers. The Idaho Industrial Commission oversees compliance and enforces regulations to ensure that employers adhere to the state’s workers’ compensation laws, with penalties for those who fail to provide the necessary coverage.
